Iveshead School Sixth Form Refurbishment
Polycopy worked with Iveshead School in Shepshed to create a dedicated sixth form environment designed around the needs of its growing student population.
The school wanted the new space to feel different from a traditional classroom, with a more relaxed, mature atmosphere that would support independent study, group work and social interaction. The aim was to create an environment closer to a modern coffee shop, while still providing practical areas for focused learning.
Polycopy worked closely with the school and its architects during the planning stage, developing design concepts and 3D visualisations to help bring the ideas to life. Students were also involved through focus groups, allowing their feedback to influence the final layout and furniture choices.
The finished design combined soft seating, sofas, high tables and stools with more traditional desks, giving students a choice of where and how they wanted to work throughout the day.
With only a six-week summer window available, the project also required careful planning and coordination. Polycopy managed the furniture supply and installation so the new sixth form space was completed and ready for students at the start of the September term.
The completed space gives Iveshead School a flexible and distinctive sixth form environment that supports study, collaboration and social time, while creating an area that older students can feel belongs to them.
“Polycopy absolutely met our expectations. They were responsive, supportive, and delivered exactly what we asked for – on time and within budget.”
Matt Parrott, Head Teacher, Iveshead School at the time.
