Nuneaton Academy – Modern Library Refurbishment
Polycopy worked with Nuneaton Academy to refurbish its school library, creating a more flexible and welcoming environment for reading, independent study and collaborative learning.
The project included a combination of fixed and mobile library shelving, soft seating, study tables and a dedicated librarian reception area, giving the school a practical mix of storage, study and social space.
Mobile double-sided shelving units were installed to make better use of the available floor space while giving the Academy greater flexibility. The shelving can be repositioned when layouts need to change, helping the library adapt for different activities, displays or events.
Fixed shelving provides permanent storage for the main book collection, while comfortable seating and tables create clearly defined areas for quiet reading, individual study and group work.
A dedicated librarian desk was also installed to provide a clear focal point for staff and students, supporting book lending, enquiries and the day-to-day management of the library.
Furniture finishes and colours were selected in consultation with the Academy to create a coordinated appearance throughout the space.
The completed library gives Nuneaton Academy a modern, flexible environment that supports much more than book storage, providing students with a practical space for reading, studying, collaborating and spending time throughout the school day.
